Introducing Marketplace Auctions: Bid, Compete, and Sell to the Highest Offer

SCORG marketplace listings can now run as live auctions. Learn how to create an auction, place bids, manage offers, and confirm a winner — all in aUEC.

You've been asking for it, and it's here: the SCORG marketplace now supports auctions. Instead of setting one fixed price and waiting, you can let buyers compete — bidding the price up in real time — and then confirm who you actually want to sell to. It's perfect for rare components, high-quality fabricated gear, and any item where you're not quite sure what the market will pay.

Here's everything you need to know.

How Auctions Work

When you create a "Want to Sell" listing, you'll now see a Sale Format choice: Fixed Price or Auction. Fixed-price listings work exactly as they always have. Choose Auction and you'll set three things:

Starting Bid — the opening price in aUEC. Minimum Bid Increment — how much each new bid has to beat the current one by. Auction Length — anywhere from 1 to 7 days. That's it. Once posted, your listing shows a live high bid, a bid count, and a countdown timer everywhere it appears — on the marketplace grid and on the listing page itself.

Placing a Bid

Browsing the marketplace, auction listings are marked with an "Auction" badge and show the current high bid plus how much time is left. Open one and you'll see the live bidding panel.

To bid, just enter an amount that meets the minimum next bid and hit Place Bid. You'll instantly see whether you're the high bidder, and if someone outbids you later, you'll get a notification so you can jump back in. Bidding closes when the timer runs out.

One important detail: bidding is private. Other buyers can see the current high bid amount and how many bids have been placed, but they cannot see who is bidding. Only the seller sees the list of bidders. No bidding wars driven by who's who — just the numbers.

Managing Bids as a Seller

On your own auction listing, the bidding panel becomes a Bids manager. You'll see every bid ranked highest to lowest, with the bidder's handle and amount, updating live as new bids come in.

When you're ready — whether the timer has ended or you've simply received an offer you're happy with — click Select Winner next to a bidder. You're in control here: the highest bid is highlighted, but you can choose any bidder. That's by design, because trades on SCORG are coordinated in-game between players, so you might prefer a buyer you've dealt with before.

Confirming a winner does three things automatically:

Marks the listing as sold. Opens a direct message with the winner, pre-filled with a note to arrange the in-game handoff. Sends the winner a "You won the auction!" notification. From there, you coordinate the trade in-game with aUEC, exactly like every other marketplace deal.

Notifications Keep Everyone in the Loop

You won't have to babysit a listing. The auction system ties into SCORG notifications (and push, if you have it enabled):

Sellers get pinged on every new bid. Buyers get alerted the moment they're outbid. Winners get a high-priority notification when the seller confirms them. A Few Things to Keep in Mind

Auctions are a coordination tool, not an escrow service. Bids are competitive offers, and the actual trade still happens in-game between you and the buyer — so the usual marketplace advice applies: verify the other party and agree on the meeting spot before handing anything over.

Auctions are available for sell listings only, and your existing fixed-price listings are completely unaffected. Nothing about how you sell today has changed unless you choose the new Auction format.

Try It Out

Head to the marketplace, create a new "Want to Sell" listing, and flip the Sale Format to Auction. Set your starting bid, pick a duration, and let the verse decide what your gear is worth.

Happy trading, and may your bids be ever in your favor.
