Alpha 4.10 on the Horizon: Siege, Fuel, and What Your Org Should Prep Now
What’s coming in Star Citizen Alpha 4.10 for orgs: instanced Siege of Orison, quantum and hydrogen fuel changes, Recco Battaglia missions, new weapons, and how…
The verse doesn’t wait for a calendar invite. While LIVE still runs on Alpha 4.9, Alpha 4.10 has been burning through PTU held back on purpose so CIG can sand down the sharp edges and stress-test performance before the jump to production. No live release date has been announced. That doesn’t mean your org should sit idle. The outline of the patch is already lit up on the nav board, and smart wings plan before the quantum spool finishes.
Here’s what we know so far and what your organization should do while the gate is still forming.
The Headline: Instanced Siege of Orison
This is the big one that slipped past 4.9. Siege of Orison returns as an instanced co-op FPS operation a private instance for your party, staged from a new Arrival Center, instead of dumping every fireteam onto the same contested platforms.
What that means in practice:
Cleaner sessions for coordinated assaults fewer random walk-ins ruining your breach plan Mission-driven progression against Nine Tails–held platforms A natural fit for scheduled org nights: brief, load out, drop in, extract together
Org move: Block a weekly op slot now. Assign roles early entry team, overwatch, medic, logistics and treat Siege like a doctrine event, not a pickup scramble. When 4.10 goes LIVE, the orgs that already rehearse will look like professionals; everyone else will look like tourists in a warzone.
Fuel Economics Are About to Shift
4.10 brings quantum drive and hydrogen fuel balance passes tank capacities and burn rates retuned so fuel behaves more like the volume your hull actually shows. Travel times and refill costs will move. Industrial ships and long-range ops feel this first.
Impact on Your Org:
Revisit convoy and mining ranges “we always top off at X” may stop being true Tanker crews and Starfarer pilots suddenly matter more on deep runs Budget aUEC for more frequent (or smarter) refuels until the new meta settles Org move: Use SCORG’s Refueling Hub to re-map cheapest stations and fill-up costs after LIVE. Log a few test routes in PTU if your wing is already there. Range is a resource again — treat it like one.
Recco Battaglia and the Story That Pays
Recco Battaglia returns with new story missions and extra blueprint rewards across the mission chain. Pair that with Orison Relief Support contracts and Wikelo inventory updates, and you’ve got narrative content that also feeds crafting and fleet upgrades.
Org Opportunities:
Run the story chain as a shared progression night — blueprints land where they help the whole hangar Spin Relief Support into logistics RP and real payouts for hauler-heavy members Keep an eye on Wikelo offerings for unique hulls/liveries worth the grind New Iron for the Ground Team Expect new FPS iron in the 4.10 cycle including the Arlington lever-action rifle plus ongoing gear and mission polish. Ground doctrine doesn’t rewrite overnight, but a new primary gives fireteams something to theory craft before the next Siege drop.
Tactical note: Medic gun effective healing range is stretching from 1.5 m to 2.5 m in PTU notes. That small number is a big deal in stacked corridors — medics get more room to work without hugging the casualty.
Performance Is the Quiet Hero
CIG’s theme for holding 4.10: stability and frame-time. PTU notes point at smoother recovery after spikes, instancing infrastructure tuning, Levski optimization, and freeing finished Orison instances instead of letting them idle. That’s not flashy patch-trailer bait it’s what lets a 20-person org night actually finish.
Org benefit: Bigger events get more viable. Plan the ambitious stuff for after LIVE settles, but keep the playbook ready.
Wipe Status: Hope, Don’t Assume
Long Term Persistence is enabled on 4.10 PTU builds and no wipe has been announced, but CIG only locks wipe language in the final LIVE notes. Plan like your progress survives; don’t stake the org treasury on a rumor.
How to Prep Your Organization Before LIVE
Audit fuel doctrine which ships, which routes, who carries the tanker job. Schedule Siege nights roles, loadouts, voice channels, post-op debrief. Queue story runners for Recco / blueprint rewards so crafting doesn’t bottleneck. PTU volunteers (optional): a small test cell reports fuel feel, instance quirks, and mission bugs back to leadership. Pin the ops board in SCORG events, fleet availability, and after-action notes in one place.
Final Approach
4.10 isn’t a fireworks patch for its own sake. It’s the patch that gives orgs a proper private war in Orison, makes fuel matter again, and tries to keep the frame rate from betraying you mid-breach. LIVE timing is still CIG’s call. Preparation is yours.
Spool carefully. Brief your wing. When the gate opens, be the org that already knew the plan.
Clear skies — see you on the platforms.
